PROGRESS IN SELECTING INTERIM ACCOMMODATION FOR CLAREGALWAY SECONDARY SCHOOL

Significant progress has been made in selecting interim accommodation for the new Claregalway Secondary School.

County Galway VEC was announced as patron for the new facility in July and the enrollement process opened last month [Sept].

The Department of Education has been assessing sites for a permanent building which is expected to go to construction in 2014/2015.

The students will be accommodated in temporary housing at a site in Claregalway, and it's understood significant progress has been made in its selection.

An enrolment information evening will be held in the Claregalway Hotel this evening at 8 and it's understood the applications are already three-quarters towards target.
