PRISON SENTENCE FOR THEFT OF CASH FROM CAR PARKED IN CITY

A Ballybane man has been given a six-month sentence for stealing €23,000 cash from the glove compartment of a car and for trying to rob a dental clinic’s cash box.21 year old Patrick Sweeney of 34 Glenbaun, Ballybane pleaded guilty at Galway District Court to the theft of €23,000 from businessman Sean Costello’s car, which was parked outside Mr. Costello’s house at Bohermore on November 21, 2007.Sweeney also pleaded guilty to trespassing at Smiles Dental Spa, Middle Street, on March 28 last year with intent to rob.
