President to officially open city primary school
The President of Ireland will perform the official opening of an all Irish school in the city today.
Michael D. Higgins will visit Gaelscoil Dara in Renmore at 11 this morning.
He will also perform the opening of an extension built last year to accomodate the pre-school Naoínra dara, as well as the after school care service.
The primary school was originally set up in 1984 with 17 pupils, and now has almost 400.
Principal of Gaelscoil Dara Mairtín Ó Ceallacháin says excitement is building at the school ahead of the visit
