Date Published: 14-Jun-2012

Pieta House hopes to make a decision on the location for its new base in Tuam by the end of this month.

Two locations are currently being assessed - one is at the HSE Toghermore campus, and another is on the outskirts of the town.

Pieta House, a centre for prevention of suicide and self harm, already has bases in Dublin and Limerick.

The organisation is holding a public meeting this day week Thursday the 21st of June at 7pm in the Harbour Hotel in the city about the issue of suicide in the west.

An update will also be given on the progression of its plans for a facility in the Tuam area.
