Parents and staff of rural schools in north east Galway will protest at proposed cuts to school transport at a meeting in Mountbellew tonight.

Minister of State, Ciaran Cannon, has agreed to meet the concerned parents and school's staff at Mountbellew Agricultural College at 8pm.

The organisers of the meeting, "Schools Together - Save our Buses", say school transport for their children is of paramount importance.

Principal of Glinsk National School, Marty Ward, says some schools could have transport for children cut by half.
