OVERTIME PAYMENTS IN GALWAY HOSPITAL GROUP DOWN

Overtime payments in the Galway/Roscommon hospital group are down 8 percent in the first four months compared to the same time last year.

That's according to a report released to members of the Regional West health Forum at this week's meeting in Galway.

The total cost of overtime payments in the hospital group from January to April of this year was 5.5 million down from last year's payments of 6 million.

Meanwhile payments to agency staff in the Galway/Roscommon hospital group are down by 808 thousand euro, a reduction of 40 per cent on the same period last year.
