OUGHTERARD SEWERAGE SCHEME TO BE FAST TRACKED

A new sewerage scheme for Oughterard is to be fast-tracked by the Department of the Environment, according to Galway West T.D Noel Grealish.Deputy Grealish says the scheme is urgently needed to prevent any further environmental damage to Lough Corrib.A meeting is due to be held next week between a landowner and Galway County Council to finalise details for the purchase of land for the treatment plant.Deputy Grealish says he received confirmation that work on the scheme would begin as soon as possible.
