OPPOSITION MOUNTS TO LOCAL AUTHORITY FARM INSPECTIONS

Galway County Council is to ask Environment Minister John Gormley to drop plans to have local authorities carry out farm inspections. The new policy would bring about a situation where Galway County Council would be inspecting farms all over the County as part of the Nitrates Directive.
