OBJECTIONS AGAINST CLAREGALWAY ESB MAST

Date Published: 27-Jul-2011
Residents in the Rooaunmore and Loughgeorge areas of Claregalway have lodged formal objections to the ESB's plans to keep a mast in the area.
A public meeting to discuss the proposals took place in Claregalway earlier this month.
The ESB has applied for planning permission to retain a mast at Rooaunmore and add nine more antennae and 6 dishes to the structure.
Local homeowners are concerned about health implications of the proposed additional equipment atRooaunmore.
An objection, containing the signatures of 72 local people has been submitted.
They claim there is no justification for such a mast in the area.
The ESB claims it needs to keep the Claregalway mast as there have been no developments in technology which would facilitate its removal.
