OBJECTION LODGED TO EXPANSION PLANS OF CONNEMARA PHARMACEUTICAL FIRM

An objection has been lodged to the proposed expansion of a pharmaceutical company in Connemara.

The construction of extensions, to include labs and administration buildings at Bioniche Pharma in Inverin, is now to be decided by An Bord Pleanala.

The objection highlights the premature nature of the application for the new effluent treatment plant.

It also states that permission for the developments should not be granted until treatment works on the site is augmented to cater for the population served.

The objections also points to traffic hazard issues in relation to fumes from queuing vehicles, resulting from the proposal.
