NUI GALWAY TO RECEIVE MAJOR CASH BOOST

A cash boost of 23 million euro for NUI Galway will mean the creation of new jobs and a greater input into local and national Industries.The money was announced as part of a 60 million euro state and industry investment into digital research centres at NUI Galway, University College Cork and Trinity College Dublin.NUI Galway has been guaranteed 15 million euro in state funding from Science Foundation Ireland, and 8 million euro will be funded from eight companies based in Galway, Westmeath and America.The 23 million will be invested over the next five years and will be spent on creating new jobs at the NUI digital research centre, and developing internet based technologies for science companies.
