New car sales pass 10,000 mark

Galway’s economy is still booming with new vehicle registrations having already passed the '07G 10000’ milestone, and set to smash all previous records.Last month, number 10,000 rolled out of a city dealership, and at the moment, registrations are around the 10,500 mark. If the current boom continues, a major new record will be set by the end of the year — until now, the most vehicles sold in Galway in one year was just shy of 13,200. And according to local dealers, more and more motorists are opting to purchase top-end luxury cars like Porsche, Maserati, Lexus and Range Rovers.
