MOTHER OF FOUR GETS PRISON FOR STEALING FROM CITY CLOAKROOMS

A pregnant mother of four has been jailed for nine months for going into staff cloakrooms at various premises around the city and stealing cash and other items Recovering heroin addict, 30 year old Anne Marie Sweeney, also known as Anne Marie Barrett, of 14 Rahylin Glebe, Ballybane appeared before Galway District Court.Judge Mary Fahy said she and others like her were on social welfare and she was not so impoverished that she had to go around stealing from staff who were working hard to earn the money stolen from them.Imposing sentences totalling nine months on Anne Marie Sweeney, Judge Fahy said employees were entitled to be protected because the last thing they expect is someone coming in behind their backs while they are at work, stealing their money and personal belongings.
