MONIVEA TURF CUTTERS MEET TONIGHT

Date Published: 30-Aug-2011

The closure of bogs in Monivea would be a huge blow to the local community.

That's according to one of the organisers of tonight's meeting for turfcutters in Monivea.

Last week locals gathered to hear about plans to close bogs in the Glenamaddy region.

The nationwide meetings are being organised by the Turf Cutters Association which has also arranged meetings in the Mountbellew and Ballymoe areas.

Tonight's meeting in Monivea takes place at the Father Salmon Community Hall at 9 o'clock.
