MINISTER CALLS ON GALWAY TDS TO WITHDRAW COMMENTS

Date Published: 16-Oct-2012
The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform is calling on the 8 Fine Gael TDs, including two Galway deputies, who criticised the performance of the Croke Park deal yesterday, to withdraw their comments.
Brendan Howlin says the deputies were wrong in their assessment of the savings made under the deal.
It follows an article in yesterday's Irish Examiner - in which 8 Fine Gael TDs including Galway West's Sean Kyne and Galway East's Paul Connaughton raised questions about the Croke Park agreement.
The TDs have been criticised by the Taoiseach for not using the parliamentary party process to raise concerns.
Minister Howlin says he can only assume that some people have an agenda in these matters.
