MANUELAS PARENTS AND SWISS FRIENDS TO ATTEND MEMORIAL IN SALTHILL

The parents of murdered Swiss student Manuela Riedo will take part in a special event in Salthill this evening in memory of their daughter.
Hans-Peter and Arlette will join up to 120 Swiss and Galway students to release thousands of balloons at ladies beach at six pm.
Hundreds of supporters will attend the event which also marks the work carried out by the Galway rape crisis centre and the Manuela Riedo foundation.
17 year old Manuela was murdered in Galway city in 2007.
A fundraising concert 'A night for Manuela' takes place in the Salthill Hotel at 8 tomorrow night.
It will feature performances from music acts such as Frances Black, Trad on the Prom and Crystal swing.
Her father Hans-Peter told Keith Finnegan this weekend gives them some strength in a dark time
