Man charged with theft from Loughrea Cathedral
Galway Bay fm newsroom - A 53-year-old Polish national is due before the courts next week in relation to theft from charity poor boxes in Loughrea.
The man, who had been living outside Galway city, was initially arrested at St. Brigid's in Portumna last Tuesday on suspicion of theft but was later released.However, today (6/2) he was charged under the Criminal Justice Act with theft from the poor boxes at St. Brendan's Cathedral Loughrea on January 19th.He was released on garda station bail and will appear before Loughrea District Court next Wednesday February 12th.
