The HSE ban on recruitment and cost cutting measures are having such an effect at UHG that there has been a cut in the number of days breast cancer patients can be seen for biopsies there.A damning letter from the hospital's medical board to hospital management has claimed that the cost cutting drive has meant the service has been cut from 5 to 3 days & will impact on cancer diagnosis. The letter also highlights a number of other areas right across the hospital where patient care and services have been affected.
