LENS MANUFACTURER BUYS OUT BUILDINGS IN TUAM

A leading lens manufacturer has commited its future to Tuam by purchasing two buildings on its site at the Dunmore Road.
Transitions Optical has been leasing the buildings at the IDA Industrial Estate from Irish food company Greencore for the last 15 years.
They recently decided to invest in their future by purchasing the buildings from Greencore for an undisclosed fee.
The first building is being used as a factory plant while the second is a warehouse and distribution facility.
The company employs 190 people and manufactures Photochromic lenses which protect the eyes by darkening when exposed to sunlight.
