LARGE PARTS OF GALWAY COUNTY WITHOUT WATER

Large parts of the County have been left without water due to a huge drop in pressure in the Mid Galway Regional Water Supply.Galway County Council has said pumps at the Water Station in Abbeyknockmoy are in overdrive and in danger of overheating.The Council says this could be due to people leaving taps running day and night to avoid pipes freezing over.Pressure cannot build in the mains as a result and many homes are being left without water, according to a Council Spokesperson.Galway Senator Ciaran Cannon is now pleading with people to turn off their taps:
