A number of key projects controlled by the Galway based Rape Crisis Network Ireland are now on hold as the future of the facility is to be decided later this month.

The national service it co-ordinates with the sexual assaults treatment unit is one of the main projects impacted.

In April last year, the HSE announced it was to withdraw the facility's core annual funding of 270 thousand euro.

The HSE has now completed a tender process for work it seeks to progress and is due to discuss the outcome of this at a meeting with the RCNI board in two weeks time.
