JUSTICE MINISTER PRAISES HEROIC GARDAI WHO FOILED LACKAGH RAID

The Minister for Justice, Dermot Ahern, has praised the two Gardaí who foiled an armed raid on a family home in Lackagh on Sunday night.During an operational briefing today, Minister Ahern informed his cabinet colleagues about the Galway kidnap attempt.Minister Ahern praised Garda Alan Keane and Garda Berniece Mulderrig of Oranmore Garda Station for their bravery is thwarting the operation by the criminal gang.During the ordeal, Julien Flynn, his wife Emma and their four children were held at gunpoint and threatened, along with two relatives who later arrived.The swift action of Garda Keane and Garda Mulderrig, who arrived at the scene, resulted in 2 members of the gang being arrested and one more under Garda surveillance in hospital.
