The promotors behind this weekend's Jedward gig in the city have apologised after the concert was cancelled 'due to unforseen circumstances'

Pop duo, John and Edward Grimes were due to headline the 'Summer Pop' concert at the Docks this Sunday.

Britains got talent 2012 finalist Ryan O' Shaungnessy and Galway's stage school 'Stagecoach', Amazing Apples and Oddity were also expected to perform.

The venue at the Docks could have held up to 3 thousand people, however it's understood ticket sales were nowhere near this number.

There were also issues with the arrangement surrounding the venue at the Docks.

In a statement, promoters of the gig, Music Events Ireland, only say it has been cancelled due to 'unforseen circumstances'.

Spokesperson for the group Amy Stevenson says everyone who has purchased tickets are entitled to a full refund.
