Irish water safety rescues 21 swimmers in Galway during heat wave
Galway Bay fm newsroom - Irish water safety lifeguards rescued 21 people from beaches, rivers and lakes in Galway last month.
There were another 191 accidents prevented by the proactive actions of lifeguards, while first aid was administered to 155 people.
The organisation is now urging the public to report any stolen or missing life buoys from Galway beaches.
Hundreds of the life saving devices are taken from their designated spots across Ireland every year.
Roger Sweeney of Galway based Irish water safety says people need to report missing, stolen or vandalised lifebuoys.
