The HSE West is to write to the Government to seek a change in law to allow a Galway family register the death of their son here.

22 year old Keith O'Reilly of Merlin Park died in a diving accident in Chicago on July 18th.

However his family cannot register his death in Ireland due to an anomaly in Irish law.

City councillor Páraic Conneely got a motion passed at last evening's HSE Regional Forum, requesting the Government to change the law.
