HSE WEST CHAIRPERSON CLAIMS HOME CARE PACKAGES ON HOLD

Date Published: 13-Sep-2012
The Chairman of the HSE West Regional Health Forum says financial adjustments to homecare hours and packages have been put on hold.
City Councillor Padraig Conneely held talks with director of the HSE West John Hennessy at a meeting of the regional forum in County Leitrim this week.
It followed revelations that the HSE West budget is to be cut by up to 30 million euro, to include changes to home help hours.
Trade Union SIPTU claims the HSE has initiated plans to reduce home help hours and in some cases, had instructed them not to attend for work.
However, Councillor Conneely says home care packages are still under negotiation.
