HSE WEST ACCUSED OF DELAYING PAPERWORK FOR LOCUM FEES

The HSE West is being accused of delaying the paperwork to reimburse Galway GPs for their locum fees.

GPs in Galway normally submit forms to be signed by a HSE clerical officer in Newcastle Road before sending their paperwork onto Dublin in order to have their fees paid.

But the failure to replace the clerical officer who's currently on leave, has led to a build-up of forms waiting to be signed.

The HSE West says efforts are being made to resolve the issue.
