Details are expected to be released today [Nov 16] of a planned HSE review into the death of Savita Halappanavar at UHG last month.

Earlier this week, the HSE said it was in the process of appointing an independent expert to oversee the work of its inquiry into the death of the 31-year-old.

Savita, a dentist, had lived in the city with her husband, 34 year old Praveen, an engineer at Boston Scientific, and died after contracting septicaemia following a miscarriage at University Hospital Galway.

Her family claim she was refused a medical termination.

The HSE says it's strengthening the National Incident Management Team being put together - by putting an outside expert in obstetrics and gynaecology in charge.

The review team - and it's terms of reference - are expected to be announced later.

Meanwhile, another candlelit vigil was held last night, this time in Belfast, where demonstrators said they were shocked at Savita's death.
