HSE CONFIRMS TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PORTUMNA HEALTH CENTRE OVER RODENT ACTIVITY

Date Published: 30-Nov-2012
The HSE has confirmed the temporary closure of Portumna Health Centre over rodent activity.
Following the discovery of a dead rat outside the centre it was closed as a precautionary measure while investigations were carried out.
Two surveys have now been undertaken by a pest control company and have shown there is no rat activity in the health centre.
In a statement, the HSE says it expects health services to resume at the centre early next week.
Galway Senator Lorraine Higgins says while the closure is regrettable, all efforts are being made to resolve the issue.
