Former Craughwell developer Kevin McGeever has been served a High Court demand for 852 thousand euro.

Kildare businessman Kevin Cooke claims he had invested the money as part of a major property deal in Dubai, which never materialised.

According to the Irish Independent, Kevin McGeever had been pursued for the money since his disappearance last May and had the High Court summons served on him in Dublin yesterday.

The Mayo native was found on a rural road in Leitrim last January and had claimed to have been kidnapped by a gang.

However following a Garda investigation, a file is now being prepared for the DPP in relation to Mr. McGeever making a false report on his alleged abduction.
