Gort Co-Op is aiming to open a new Rural Enterprise Centre to make it's Livestock Mart more viable. It's submitted plans to build five units in three blocks at the rear of the Mart at Ballybaun in Gort. The National Roads Authority however is opposed to the centre due to it's potential effect on the new N18 Gort - Crusheen road scheme which has not been considered in the application. County planners will make their decision in the coming months.
