Glynn's Tuam seek extra time for mixed use development with cinema
Galway Bay fm newsroom - Approval is being sought from the County Council for extra time to build a major mixed-use development in Tuam.
Glynns Limited has applied for the extension of time on planning permission for the development at Townparks.
The development involves the demolition of the existing buildings on site and the construction of a commerical and residential development.
It'll have 9 retail units, an anchor retail unit, 5 offices, a restaurant, a five-screen cinema, apartments and basement car parking.
The development will also include landscaping and a riverside walk and paved river court and public plazas.
Permission was granted for the development at Townparks in 2009, but Glynns state that work has not begun because of the downturn in the economy.
County planners will decide whether or not to grant more time to Glynns for the development next month.
