GLASS BAN IN CITY CENTRE FOR RACE WEEK

Galway city centre is turning into a glass free zone for race week. For the second year running, glass, bottles and cans will be banned from the city streets each evening next week. Only plastic drink containers will be allowed in the main pedestrianised areas - on Main Guard St, High St, Quay St, Kirwan's Lane, Courthouse Lane and Cross St. All entry points will be manned by Gardaí and stewards from 8pm Monday and Tuesday, from 6pm Wednesday to Friday, and from 7pm Saturday and Sunday.
