GAMING FIRM DECLINES TO COMMENT ON CITY JOB LOSSES
City gaming giant Electronic Arts has declined to confirm or deny reports that 20 of its staff have been laid off from its customer service division.
Last September, the firm which is one of the biggest gaming companies in the world, announced an expansion of its Galway Customer Experience Centre, bringing 300 jobs to the city.
In a statement to Galway Bay fm News regarding the reported city job losses, EA says it's sharpening its focus to provide games for new platforms and mobile.
It adds that in some cases, this involves reducing team sizes adding that it does not disclose the impact on individual teams.
