GALWAY TD CALLS FOR NATIONAL FLOOD WARNING SYSTEM

Galway East Fine Gael Deputy Ulick Burke is calling on the Government to develop a National Flood Warning System.
The party is concerned that the Government has no co-ordinated flooding alert system or response plan in place to cope with serious flooding.
The Opposition will propose in the Dáil next week a system of alerting the local authorities, civil defence the OPW and the emergency services.
