GALWAY SECOND HIGHEST RATE OF SEPTIC TANK INSPECTIONS

Homeowners in Galway are among those to receive the most septic tank inspections from the summer.

The Irish Independent reports that the Environmental Protection Agency says tanks in Galway, Cork, Donegal and Kerry will be targeted.

It's as groundwater is most at risk in these areas due to soil conditions and the number or systems.

The national plan will see 30 local authority inspectors examining 1 thousand tanks nationwide.

This will include 98 inspections in Galway, the second highest level in the country after Cork which is to receive 99 such inspections.
