Date Published: 06-Dec-2009
Galway retailers are hitting out at the Government over possible price increases on cigarettes in the upcoming budget. Retailers say any increase on cigarette prices in the 2009 Budget will result in job losses across Galway. Ireland is the second most expensive country in Europe for cigarettes behind Norway. Galway retailers say raising the price of cigarettes will entice more people to buy smuggled cigarettes.
