GALWAY PUBLIC PATIENTS TOP TRANSFER LIST FOR PRIVATE SURGERY

Galway has the highest number of patients in the country outside of Dublin treated under the National Treatment Purchase Fund. Almost 10,000 public patients in Galway who qualified for the treatment were waiting for surgery for over three months. So far 9,682 public patients in Galway have been transferred to the National Treatment Purchase Fund list. It's the highest number of patients using the Fund in any county in the country with the exception of Dublin according to Galway West TD Frank Fahey.
