GALWAY PRIMARY SCHOOLS OPPOSE NATIONAL NEWSPAPER COMPETITION

Date Published: 18-Jan-2010

Three Galway schools have added their names to a list of fifty condemning a competion being run by a national newspaper.

Principals from Newcastle National school in Athenry, Carnmore National school and Ardrahan National school in Labane are refusing to take part in the Irish Independent's 'building for the future' scheme.

They claim the quota of 20 tokens per pupil required from schools to enter the competition is simply an effort to boost paper sales.
