Galway nurses are considering industrial action due to the ongoing overcrowding crisis at UHG.

A decision on whether to proceed with ballot action will be made by the INMO executive next week.

It comes as 46 people are on trollies at the emergency department at University Hospital Galway.

A further 11 are waiting for beds at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinalsoe.
