They have until 2032 to finish the development after getting the green light in 2022 for planning

Developers planning to build a housing estate in county Galway have been given six more years to finish if needed - after being granted planning permission four years ago.

The building of the 56 homes in Headford could be finished possibly as late as ten years after they first got the green light from Galway County Council for the development in 2022.

Spearheaded by Callanan & Walsh Construction Co. Ltd, with an address at Mill House, Mill Street in the city, an extension of permission was approved until September 8 2032 with planners believing the development will be finished well before the deadline.

The development plans show a mix from bungalows to two storey houses both semi-detached and terraced.

Foundations have been poured on the site as well as the building of blockwork to roof level on a number of the houses.

Eallagh Phase 2 in Headford is one of their latest developments with the company saying “like all our previous projects it sets new standards of living in this most attractive of locations”.

They continued: “Eallagh is truly an ideal location. From those looking to escape the busy and stressful city life to first time buyers looking for a special home to start a family, Eallagh has something to offer everyone. Every facility imaginable is only a short walk from your doorstep.

There are three house types currently for Sale in Eallagh: 4 Bed Semi Detached – 1,345 sq/ft; 3 Bed Semi Detached – 1,248 sq/ft; 3 Bed Townhouse – 1,221 sq/ft.

They finished by saying: “It’s the attention to detail which makes Eallagh unique, from its landscaped open greens, to its cleverly designed homes and its unrivalled building specification.”

“Eallagh Phase 1 offered homeowners a tranquil haven in the heart of Headford town in County Galway.

“We sought to ensure a rare found privacy by offering very generous landscaped areas, ideal for young families and those seeking respite from the suburbs of Galway city.

“There are a number of different house styles, which allowed house buyers an individual look to their new home. Each house was finished to a very high specification – a trademark of Callanan & Walsh’s commitment to quality.”
