GALWAY COUNCILLOR CALLS FOR EUROPEAN HEALTH CARDS FOR ALL

A Galway city councillor is calling on Health Minister Mary Harney to issue European Health Cards to every citizen of the State. Labour Cllr Billy Cameron wants the European Health Card, also known as the E111 form, to be issued automatically to every individual or issued on a ten year basis similar to the national passport. The card entitles holders to healthcare in another EU country during a temporary stay but people have to re-apply for a new card every three years.
