Bill Murray has brush with Galway hospitality as he shelters from weather

From this week's Galway City Tribune - When Hollywood legend Bill Murray came into a pharmacy in Salthill to seek shelter from the rain, he couldn’t have known he would leave enveloped in Galway hospitality – physically as well as emotionally.
The actor famous for roles in Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Lost in Translation walked into Colm’s Pharmacy on Monday where pharmacy technician Marianne Lowry and healthcare assistant Naoise Owens immediately recognised him.
He was browsing for a hairbrush while seeking solace from the heavy downpours in the seaside resort.
They started chatting to him about his recent month-long jaunt across the golf courses of Ireland for a Youtube series, The Links Life.
Owner Colm Kennelly said they couldn’t let the actor leave without showing him the High Tide swimming robe, made by Colm’s brother, Joe. These have proved a huge hit in the pharmacy during the pandemic when the whole world seems to have taken up sea swimming.
“We gave him one complimentary and he offered to take a photo with us. It was the last one we had, it was on display so I didn’t mind. He was delighted with it. Perfect for a rainy Galway day.”
Bill told the women he was enjoying time with his extended family after shooting the series.
