GALWAY AMONG TOP THREE COUNTIES TO AVAIL OF SCRAPPAGE SCHEME

Over five-percent of total reclaims under the Government car scrappage scheme were made in Galway.

It means Galway has the third highest number of reclaims behind Cork and Dublin.

Figures from the Society of the Motor Industry show that 520 people availed of the scheme in Galway between April and June of this year.

Drivers are now being advised that they've just five months left to avail of the scheme, which was introduced in last year's budget.
