FUNDING FOR TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION FOR KNOCKNACARRA TRAVELLERS

Funding has been made available to try and accommodate travellers who've been camped illegally in Knocknacarra since last week. [9/10]The group of about 13 caravans were moved from a site in Moycullen at the beginning of October.They've now set up camp in the car park of Millars Lane Soccer Grounds in Rahoon.They want Galway City Council to provide them with a permanent site within the city boundary with running water and electricity.A city council spokesperson says they're hopeful of resolving the situation within a week.
