Full Commission of investigation following Tuam mother and baby home controversy

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Government's announced a full ‘Commission of Investigation' into mother and baby homes. The decision comes amid controversy over a children's grave in Tuam which was adjacent to the former Bons Secours mother and baby home. The Commission will have full statutory powers to seek documents and compel witnesses. Children's Minister Charlie Flanagan says its essential that the facts are established and he's calling on the Catholic church to co-operate.
