FLOODING ON SOME SALTHILL AND CITY ROADS

Date Published: 30-Dec-2012
AS flooding is reported on stretches of two busy city roads this evening motorists all over Galway are being warned to drive with care due to a build up of surface water on most roads.
Galway Gardai say the worst flooding is on a stretch of road at Roscahill which is still passable but motorists are asked to take great care while driving through the flooded area of the road there.
Meanwhile in Salthill the Gardai say that there is severe flooding on a stretch of the road near Glenlo Abbey.
The Gardai also say that while it is still passable motorists should exercise care, especially when driving through the flooded section of this road.
Elsewhere around the county the Gardai say that while there is a lot of surface water on most roads all the main routes remain passable.
But it is important for motorists to exercise greater caution when travelling in the wet driving conditions this evening and tonight.
