'Fish in distress' alert issued for Galway
Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Galway branch of Inland Fisheries Ireland has issued a fish in distress alert. It's part of a national push, urging people to report any sightings of distressed fish because of high water temperatures or low water levels.
IFI is also asking that anglers voluntarily stop using keep nets during this period, so as not to cause unintentional distress to fish kept for long periods. As water temperatures for salmon and trout are hot at the moment, fish kills may be unavoidable.
