FEUDING ARAN ISLANDERS CLASH OVER LAND

A 43 year old Aran islander, who stabbed his brother four times with a fish knife following a dispute over land, was given the benefit of the Probation Act at Galway District Court this week.Mike Faherty, Mainistir, Kilronan, Inis Mór, pleaded guilty to assaulting his older brother John Faherty, at Oatquarter, Kilronan, on July 22 last year. He also pleaded guilty to producing a knife during the course of the assault on the same date.
