There are fears for the future of gynaecological services at University Hospital Galway due to reduced staffing.
Fianna Fáil Health Spokesperson Billy Kellegher says he's concerned that the gynaecological theatre may be closed.
He says only emergencies and c-sections are being catered for at present at the theatre.
Deputy Kellegher says frontline staff are under immense pressure following the retirement scheme last month and now fear that elective surgeries may be cancelled.
